Peter A. Walker 

Associate Professor, jointly appointed in Department of Geography and the Environmental Studies Program

My research and teaching are diverse and interdisciplinary, focusing on the human dimensions of land use and environmental change in the United States and in southern Africa. I am trained in geography as a political ecologist, with theoretical focus on the interrelations between power, politics, policy, and human-environmental interactions at multiple scales. I also draw on my training in economics and policy, as these shape and are shaped by politics, culture, and environmental change. My work is field-based and uses multiple qualitative and quantitative methods.
