The various research interests of the human geographers in the Department coalesce
around issues of politics, culture and space. Individually and
collaboratively, this cohort of researchers brings together a diverse set of
questions including ethno-territorial conflict, transnational citizenship,
migration, gender and ethnic identity formation and human-environment
interactions. The link will provide a more detailed description of
faculty research agendas in this area.
Our department offers a broad range of regional research and teaching
specialties, covering Latin America, Western and Eastern Europe, Africa,
and the Middle East. Within the United States we have particular expertiseon the American West. This page describes some of the research done by
Department Faculty members and graduate students, and has links and citations for some of our publications.
