Tea Talk Dec 5th: Michael Nelson
Please join the Department of Geography in welcoming Michael Nelson from Oregon State University. Nelson is the Ruth H, Spaniol Chair of Renewable Resources at OSU and Lead Principal Investigator for the HJ Andrews Experimental Forest. He is also a Senior Fellow with the Spring Creek Project for Ideas, Nature, and the Written Word. Nelson’s research areas include integrated social and ecological systems & social science, policy, and natural resources and his research interests are philosophy and environmental ethics.
His talk, entitled “The Ecology of Surprise: Ecology & Ethics in an Old-Growth Forest” will be given at 4:00 pm in Condon 108 on December 5th, 2019. Please join us before hand for snacks and announcements at 3:00 pm.
