Alumni Panel & Workshop

Join UO Geography Bachelors and Masters alumni as they talk about their journeys and realities post-graduation during their search for a careers. These graduates have gone on to a wide variety of careers that may not be considered ‘geography job.’ They were chosen to represent a variety of pathways and stories, to show the diversity of options and opportunities available to you, and to highlight the role in networking and the ability to take advantage of opportunity in your career development.

UO Geography Alumni panelists:

Kevin Barrett, BA 2010, is based in Springfield, and is the founder and Owner of Swallowtail Spirits.

Arron Cobb, BS 2015, is based in Eugene and has recently entered the Planning, Public Policy and Management graduate program at UO. He worked as an Operations and Policy Analyst for the Oregon Department of Human Services in the Medicaid Section, more commonly known as the Oregon Health Plan.

Maylian Pak, MA 2005, is based in Eugene and currently works as a donor relations officer for the Oregon Community Foundation.

Julie Stringham, BS 2016, is based in Portland and is a Geospatial Developer at Portland metro.

Derek Watkins, MA 2012, is based in Portland and currently works as a graphics editor for the New York Times.
