About 11,000 homes and businesses were without power Sunday from Port Orford along the Oregon coast south to the California border. Two Bonneville Power Administration transmission lines were down, but efforts were being made to restore power Sunday night.

A mudslide Sunday afternoon pushed five homes south of the town of Myrtle Creek off their foundations, trapping one resident for about an hour.

Heavy rains were filling southwestern Oregon rivers and streams, flooding roads and prompting mudslides. around the area.

In the Portland area, Interstate 84 eastbound near Corbett was closed Sunday afternoon for almost two hours, said Lt. Gregg Hastings of the Oregon State Police.

Mud and debris slid about noon from a hill about noon near where highway workers were doing anti-slide maintenance. The Oregon Department of Transportation crews cleared the road.

Near Wilsonville, about a dozen Interstate 5 motorists reported their tires flattened before state crews repaired a small sinkhole.

Southeast Foster Road from 101st Avenue to 122nd Avenue in Portland was closed by due to high water flooding out of Johnson Creek, Mary Volm of the city Transportation Office said.

On Southwest Multnomah Boulevard between 45th and 69th avenues, work continued in response to remaining slide problems. The road was open only for local access.

The National Weather Service canceled an urban streams flood warning Sunday afternoon as rains tapered off.

The forecast for the Willamette Valley was for showers turning to rain turning to showers and back to rain through the next several days.

Much of western Western Oregon received at least 2 inches of rain in a 24-hour period ending at 4 a.m. Sunday, with 3 inches along much of the coast.

In Brookings, Oregon's southwesternmost point, 4 inches fell in that same 24-hour period, with another 2 inches Sunday morning.
