Lane County, Oregon


With Lane County's diversity of flora, fauna, and geography within its 75 campgrounds there is a wide array of recreational activities to experience in or around these areas. Oregon is known for wide-open places and Lane County is the epitome of such places. From the glacial capped, volcanic peaks of the Cascades found in the Willamette National Forest to mile after mile of Oregon's beautiful coast line Lane County invites you to enjoy her breath-taking vistas.

Whether it's taking a retirement trip in the RV, planning to take the family camping for the weekend, or just getting away from city traffic to do some hiking, you can find it in Lane County's campgrounds. Campgrounds such as Honeyman State Park, Baker Bay County Park, Harbor Vista County Park, and Richardson campground are excellent examples of full facility campgrounds including; Fresh water, showers, toilets, disabled persons' access, and water sports. Honeyman also has four yurts for those that desire more security than a tent. For equestrians North Waldo and Skookum Creek campgrounds offer horse camps and trails, as well as, hiking, fishing, and hunting access. For those with gold fever one can try their hand at panning for gold at Sharps Creek campground. Lane County campgrounds are excellent areas for the wildlife enthusiast as well whether it is photography, bird watching, fishing, or hunting there is countless campgrounds which harbor pristine habitat for the many species of the region.

Tourists and locals alike can all find activities that interest them in the campground facilities of Lane County. Within the old-growth forests, the lakes and rivers, and the beaches of Lane County's campgrounds everyone can enjoy the time spent in this beautiful county of Oregon.
