Research Interests
James E. Meacham is a Senior Research Associate and Director and co-founder of the InfoGraphics Lab. The InfoGraphics Lab is a GIS and cartographic research facility in the Department of Geography. His research interests include map design and atlas creation. He teaches the Advanced Cartography course that focuses on map design and production concepts and techniques. His recent projects include the publication of the Atlas of Yellowstone (University of California Press, 2012), and Landscape in the Mongolian Altai: An Atlas (ESRI Press, 2010) winner of the Association of American Geographer’s Globe Book Award. He is a member of the Oregon Geographic Names Board and the Oregon Geographic Information Council.
